First six months of patient balance data analysed

First six months of patient balance data analysed

Valuable insights into the balance ability of 400 patients at Hastings Medical Centre in Wauchope, northern New South Wales, have been obtained.

Under the supervision of Dr Phil Ewart, several nurses at the practice tested patients’ balance using the Balance Mat over the last six months.

De-identified patient data such as medical history and health conditions have now been correlated by Balance Mat Pty Ltd Technical Director Ian Bergman against the results of the patients’ Balance Mat tests.

This analysis of Balance Mat testing data has enabled Dr Ewart to better understand each patient’s falls risk.

Balance testing of patients at Hastings Medical Centre is ongoing, with visiting doctor Angela Lei now considering a study of the balance ability of patients with diabetes.
